On this page, I describe the DwarfLab bag for my electronic refractor telescope Dwarf mini 30 mm/150 mm (f/5). I ordered it at the beginning of May 2026 and received it on May 8, 2026.

I ordered the DwarfLab bag for the Dwarf mini because ...

This is not described on the DwarfLab Website, but you can attach the DwarfLab tripd to the bag

However, it is better to put it in its plastic..

... and textile bag ;)

First Conclusions

I have not really been wowed by the bag so far, but I will definitely use it anyway. What was not clear to me when I ordered it is this: it is more of a "carry bag" than a "storage bag." You cannot remove the shoulder strap - it is always attached to the bag. And that can be annoying, especially if you just want to use the bag for storage...

If, like some Dwarf mini owners, you want to leave your equipment "set up", that is, leave the telescope on the tripod and tilted for EQ mode, so that it is ready to go the next time, this bag is not the best choice. After all, you have to take the equipment apart if you want to use the bag - especially if you want to attach the tripod to the bag, which, of course, is not necessary. Well, setting up the mount goes pretty quickly, so for now I have packed everything as shown in the following photo:

By the way, nowhere on the DwarfLab Internet page for the bag is mentioned that you can attach the tripod to the bottom of the bag. But what else are those two mounts on the bag for???

The pocket for additional accessories on the front of the telescope bag is "fiddly." While it fits a sun filter and a lens cleaning cloth, it is not tall enough for the documentation (telescope, tripod). And you really should not use the cleaning cloth on the front lens...

All in all, the whole setup is pretty compact, but a universal case for the Dwarf mini and its tripod might be more practical (though even then, you have to "set up" the tripod all over again every time...).

Last but not least, I am going to put the equipment - the bag with the tripod attached - inside a plastic bag, because everything gets dusty so quickly around here ;)
