On this page, I present corner softness comparisons for my second Ricoh GXR A16 24-85 camera unit that I received in exchange for my first unit. The first unit had been adjusted at the CONVAIR repair center in Pirmasens, Germany, however, without much success - at least, in my opinion.

Here, I present samples for the focal lengths of 24 mm, 28 mm, 35 mm, and 70 mm; the samples for 70mm and 85mm were too fuzzy to be presented here (I may repeat the shots later...).

I plan to provide a number of further samples with nature and architectural scenes, however, without systematically varying focal length (no sections, only overviews and original files).

While this new camera unit is not much better than my first one, the A16 24-85 camera unit has become my favorite unit at the moment (summer and autumn 2012), because of its versatility. I am only missing a somewhat langer zoom and a macro...

Further Samples

Here, I provide some further sample photos that demonstrate corner fuzziness (or softness) with some landscape scenes, however, without systematically varying focal length (no sections, only overviews and original files). Also note that in "natural scenes" fuzzy corners are less of a problem.
