On this page, I compare corner softness of the Ricoh GXR A16 24-85 camera unit for the focal lengths of 24 mm, 28 mm, 35mm, 50mm, 70 mm, and 85 mm after an adjustment of the camera unit at the CONVAIR repair center in Pirmasens, Germany.
See also a second set of similar test shots at sunlight and some further samples with landscape and architectural scenes, but without systematically varying focal length (no sections, only overviews and original files). See also my sample page for the replacement camera unit (added on October 14, 2012).
After the adjustment, things have somewhat improved. However, I still find some of the corners at 24mm and 28mm too fuzzy - but this is only my personal opinion...
