Leica X Vario: Sun Stars

Sample Photos

Archive

On this page, I present photos to illustrate for the Leica X Vario how you can let the sun have stars, and which aperture should be set for this purpose. In my opinion, it is best to set aperture to f/16, but there may be reasons that this is not possible. I would like to suggest that you can open aperture to f/11, but better would be to open it only to f/12 - as the series suggest that was taken with 1/3 f-stop steps. Please take a look at the sample photos below to form your own opinion on this.

For investigating this matter, I took several series of shots directly into the sun, some at full f-stop steps, and one at 1/3 f-stop steps (series 3).
