On this page I collect my observations of the irregular galaxy NGC 4565 (Needle Galaxy) in the constellation Coma Berenices.
The spiral galaxy NGC 4565 in the constellation Coma Berenices is one of the most prominent and famous edge-on spiral galaxies in the sky. It is also called the Needle Galaxy. Visually, NGC 4565 can be easily seen with small telescopes, according to Wikipedia. Observed with larger amateur telescopes, away from the scattered light of urban night lighting, it is considered one of the most beautiful objects of the night sky (Wikipedia).
Below NGC 4565, there is the galaxy NGC 4562. A little further away (optically) is the solitary elliptical galaxy NGC 4555, which is also in the image with the Vespera Pro. In a distance of about 1°, there is the barred spiral galaxy NGC 4559, which is not included in any of my photos.
Together with NGC 4562 and NGC 4494, NGC 4565 forms the small galaxy group LGG 294.
