On this page I collect my observations of the galactic emission nebula Sh2-157 (Lobster Claw Nebula) in constellation Cassiopeia (at the border to Cepheus).
The galactic emission nebula Sh2-157 (Lobster Claw Nebula) in constellation Cassiopeia is large and faint and resembles a lobster claw on photos, hence its name. It was cataloged by the astronomer Stewart Sharpless in his catalog of nebulae published in 1959.
The Dwarf mini mosaic also shows the nebula NGC 7635 (Bubble Nebula), part of the open star cluster M 52, the nebula NGC 7538 nebula (Northern Lagoon Nebula), the open star cluster NGC 7510 near the Lobster’s Claw, and the emission nebula (H II region) Sh2-159 and the emission nebula Sh2-161 (partially).
