On this page I collect my observations of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 4085 and the spiral galaxy NGC 4088 (Arp 18) in the constellation Ursa Major.
The barred spiral galaxy NGC 4085 and the spiral galaxy NGC 4088 (Arp 18) in the constellation Ursa Major seem to interact with one another. At least, the deformations of galaxy NGC 4088 seem to indicate this (but this does not seem to be true...).
Both galaxies can be easily observed in the same field of view with the eVscope. By the way, NGC 4088 looks like a floating woman to me, that is why I call it "fairy galaxy". But on more detailed photos this impression disappears for me...

In 2009, the Supernova SN2009dd in NGC 4088 was discovered by two Italien amateur astronomers. It is a bright spot close to the center of the galaxy.
