On this page I collect my observations of the spiral galaxy M 74 (NGC 628) in the constellation Pisces.

Introduction

The spiral galaxy M 74 is located in the constellation Pisces and, according to Stoyan, is considered one of the most difficult objects in the entire Messier catalogue because of its low overall and surface brightness. With the eVscope and eVscope 2, I was able to photograph a faint glimmer after all... It alos worked with the Vespera; the Vespera Pro needed more effort...

M 74 (NGC 628)
Size: 3.5' (Stoyan)
Distance: 30 millions light years (Stoyan)
Rating: * (Stoyan)
