Introduction

The galactic emission nebula IC 5146 (Cocoon Nebula) in the constellation Cygnus has an embedded open star cluster, named Cr 470. The nebula is a star-forming region with ionized atomic hydrogen and has both emitting, reflecting, and absorbing components.
