On this page I collect my observations of the galactic nebula IC 2177 (Seagull Nebula) in the constellation Monoceros.
The galactic nebula IC 2177 (Seagull Nebula) in the constellation Monoceros is, according to Stoyan, very large and very faint. Nearby are the open star clusters NGC 2335 and NGC 2343. A little further away (to the North), but still close, is the open star cluster M 50, which can be observed together with IC 2177 in a Vespera mosaic. Still a little bit farther away (to the East), there is NGC 2359 (Thor's Helmet).
