Introduction | Map | My Own Photos | My Own Observations | References

On this page I collect my observations of the spiral galaxy NGC 3753 in the constellation Leo, which together with other galaxies forms the galaxy group Arp 320 (Copeland's Septet).

Introduction

NGC 3753 is a spiral galaxy (type Sab) in the constellation Leo. The galaxy was discovered on February 9, 1874 by the British astronomer Ralph Copeland. Together with NGC 3745, NGC 3746, NGC 3748, NGC 3750, NGC 3751 and NGC 3754, the galaxy NCG 3753 forms the galaxy group Arp 320, also known as Copeland's Septet after its discoverer.

Further galaxies on the currently only photo are: NGC 3808, NGC 3772, IC 2940, NGC 3743, and NGC 3758. They are not discussed here.
