On this page I collect my observations of the globular star cluster IC 1276 in the constellation Serpens/Serpent.

Introduction

The globular star cluster IC 1276 in the constellation Serpens/Serpent appears with a reddish tint because of its large distance and the dust of the Milky Way (after Bernd Hubl). It belongs to the Palomar globular clusters (No 7), which are some of the faintest of all globular clusters in the Milky Way galaxy.

IC 1276
Size: 7.1' / 8' (Bernd Hubl/Wikipedia)
Distance: 17,600 light years (Bernd Hubl)
Rating: ---
